Can you explain what current assets are and give some examples?

Current assets are items that a company owns and can quickly turn into cash within a period of three months or less. They are essential because they show a company’s liquidity, or its ability to pay short-term obligations. Examples of current assets include cash in the bank, short-term investments like treasury bills, inventory (goods the company plans to sell), and accounts receivable, which is money owed to the company by its customers.
